CareerEngine: automate the applying, track it in CareerOS
CareerOS keeps your search organised. CareerEngine is a free, MIT-licensed agent from developerOS that does the repetitive part: it applies to LinkedIn and Naukri jobs through your own Chrome browser, answers screening questions with Gemini, and replies to recruiter InMails. It runs on your machine, separate from CareerOS.

Your own Chrome session
Connects to your real Chrome over the DevTools Protocol (port 9222), so it works inside the LinkedIn and Naukri sessions you are already signed in to, with typing delays that mimic a person.
Screening questions, answered
Handles dropdowns, radio groups, numeric fields and multi-step modals using Gemini models rotated across your own API keys. Answers are cached in a local profile file so repeat questions resolve instantly.
The right resume per role
Reads the job description and picks the matching PDF from your local resumes folder by tag: _DE data engineering, _DS data science, _AI GenAI, _SWE backend and _MLOps cloud and DevOps.
Recruiter InMail replies
Reads incoming LinkedIn recruiter messages and drafts a concise reply using your profile facts. Run it with --preview to review drafts first, or --send to reply live.
Local by default
Your profile, resumes, API keys and the jobs.db application history stay on your machine, with no telemetry. Only the screening questions go to the Gemini API keys you supply.

CareerOS is free to use with a developerOS account.
Does CareerOS find jobs or apply for me?
No. You add each application yourself. CareerOS keeps the pipeline, interview notes and offers organised; it does not search job boards or submit applications. If you want automation, CareerEngine is a separate open-source tool from developerOS that applies to LinkedIn and Naukri roles from your own Chrome. It runs on your computer and is not part of CareerOS.
Is CareerEngine safe to use on my LinkedIn or Naukri account?
CareerEngine drives your own signed-in browser and is built to behave like a person, but automated applying may be against a job board's terms of service and can lead to account restrictions. Read the platform's terms and use it at your own risk. Try the --preview mode first.
Which currency does the offer calculator use?
Amounts are entered in Indian rupees, in lakhs (for example base salary in ₹ LPA). CareerOS does not convert other currencies.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. Settings has a Data tab where you can download all your CareerOS data as a JSON file or delete it.
